After the cancellation of the Rotorua Night Market due to inclement weather, the Great EV Road Trip 2019 began at stop 2 – Taupo – on the Colonel Roberts Reserve, right in the heart of the eating quarter of Taupo – and on the waterfront.

NZer uses EV to power property during power cut.
With a general power cut in Taupo recently, one EV owner and dealer, Steve Greenwood of Drive EV (www.driveev.co.nz/) has been able to keep the power going at his home and office.
Using an inverter running off the traction batteries in an EV, he has available two AC power points for household appliances.

Annual 5,000 kilometre EV road trip to stop at iconic Hawke’s Bay locations
A group of eight electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts, driving 5,000 kilometres across New Zealand, will be stopping at iconic Hawke’s Bay locations on Monday 26 March.
The ‘Leading the Charge’ convoy began their journey in Bluff on 14 March and will stop at Havelock North, Te Mata Peak and the Napier Sound Shell. Their journey ends in Cape Reinga on 3 April.
